The Mad scientist is at it again. The harmonic's were sounding boxy and muffled to me. If I removed the backs, then they were no longer muffled but the mid bass was all gone and made voices sound hollow. So I came up with this idea. It's making me happy as hayseedy as it seems.

Cradeldorf, have ever tried a small front port in this maddness? I think that you should try closing off the back holes, and adding a mere 33 cu in port in the front bottom. My 8 cu ft 418 speakers sound their best shoved into the corners and toed in. That might require removing that hanging screen wall, but is that helping or hurting at this point?

I need a bigger living room, It's like filling a glass with a fire hose.

Small port....no, but I have tried enough things to know the less port there is on the cabinet the more boxy they sound. Mine sound best right tight against the wall but not in the corners. tried them both ways including all around the room.
